Skilled Nursing residents enjoy numerous benefits

  • Wesley Terrace is nestled on a 40-acre wooded lot with lake and pool. It is a complete retirement community owned by Methodist Homes for the Aging, a nonprofit corporation.
  • The campus includes 92 apartments, a 21-bed licensed assisted living facility and a 75-bed licensed skilled nursing unit. Residents pay privately in all three sections.
  • Residents can move among the various levels as their condition improves or declines.
  • Cynthia Yount, RN, is the director of nursing. She is assisted by Susan Caswell, RN, assistant director of nursing, and Wavie Baker, RN, care plan coordinator. There also is a registered nurse supervisor on each weekend day shift.
  • There is licensed practical nurse coverage around the clock.
  • Individual care is provided by certified nursing assistants.
  • Delicious, nutritious meals are served in a beautiful dining room overlooking a courtyard with flowers and fountain. Therapeutic diets are provided according to physician order.
  • Congenial people enjoy a wide range of activities, supervised by the activities staff. There are at least four activities scheduled each day, with one evening activity per week and two Saturday activities.
  • Chapel is open at all times for prayer or religious service. There is Sunday School every Sunday morning and a complete worship service, conducted by local ministers, every Sunday afternoon.
  • Wesley Terrace bus provides weekly field trips.
  • A full-time, professional social worker helps residents adjust to their new surroundings and provides continuing assistance with psycho-social needs. She acts as liaison between the family and Wesley Terrace.
  • Family visits are encouraged, and there are no specific visiting hours. If the resident’s condition permits, outings with the family are beneficial.
  • Semi-private accommodations predominate, although there are a few private rooms. Residents are encouraged to bring small pieces of furniture, pictures, plants and other items to make rooms as home-like as possible.
  • Daily housekeeping service is provided. Linens are changed daily and as needed.
  • Linens are laundered by the facility. If the family is unable to launder personal clothing, Wesley Terrace will assist in finding someone to do the laundry for a monthly fee.
  • Cable television connection is provided at no additional charge. Telephone service can be arranged through Bell South.
  • A full-service beauty shop is located on the premises and is open four days a week to provide a complete range of services to men and women.
  • Interior and exterior maintenance is provided, including heating, air conditioning, lighting, etc.
  • Skilled Nursing Facility is located in a one-story masonry building. Safety features include sprinkler system throughout, grab bars in bathrooms, emergency call lights in bathrooms and nurse call button at each bedside.
  • Wells Fargo Security patrols the premises from 3 p.m. until 6:30 a.m.
  • Residents who are confused and tend to wander are equipped with a wrist monitor which alerts the staff when they go through nursing facility doors.
  • There is a caring, watchful staff on duty at all times.
